IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope you and your family are all well and staying safe. I would like to begin by once again thanking you for your on-going support through these unprecedented times. Feedback from the teachers has highlighted the excellent improvement with engagement with on line learning. Thank you for your hard work with the support you have provided for your children, and we have truly valued hearing from you in the weekly survey.
As we head in to the end of the summer term, it really is a strange feeling not having all the children here at school and completing the usual end of term events. The children who have been attending have been having a fantastic time and have really enjoyed the various learning activities and have settled in well with the new routines that we have put into place to keep everyone safe. Please have a look at our social media to see what has been going on and watch out very soon for a video of a day in the life at Gainsborough under the current circumstances. Some pictures are also overleaf.
We do have some spaces still available at school in our bubbles, so please speak to your child’s class teacher or contact the school on 07753 221 674 or 02074763533 if you would like your child to return back to school.
The Prime Minister has stated that ALL children will be going back to school in September and we are looking forward to welcoming them all back. We are still awaiting government guidance on what this will look like for September and I can reassure you that we will follow all of the health and safety advice (as we have been doing).
In preparation for next year, we would like to see all children face-to-face for a short time in the last week of term. We are planning this very carefully and will of course have social distancing and be following a strict health and safety plan. You will soon receive an invite for an allocated day/time to bring your child into the school for just 1 hour where they can see their friends (at a distance) and meet their new teacher for next year.
We are also in the planning stage for inviting all the current year 6 children back into school to have an end of school event where they will receive their end of year gifts. As I said earlier, it really is a strange feeling for the end of the school year and not what I had in mind for the end of my first year as headteacher.
I will be in touch soon with more information regarding September opening and I hope your children can make the planned events in the final week of term.
Please take care, thank you for all your support and stay safe,
Headteacher
